2024 NBSL Matchday three review: Kada BSC remain unbeaten as holders end Anambra Warriors winning start

The race for 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super Four continue with Matchday three games of the first round in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

In the opening game of the matchday, holders, Kebbi BSC returned to winning ways with a 3-2 win against Anambra Warriors BSC ending the winning run of the latter.

Hassan Abdullahi scored three goals to lift the Kebbi Fishers to their second win after three games while the team’s former player, Emeka Ogbonna scored two goals against his former side.

After losing their first three games including surrending a 2-0 lead on two occasions, Nmanko Patigi finally recorded their first win of the season with a 6-2 victory over Kebbi United BSC.

Two goals apiece from Kunle Jamiu, Usman Yusuf, and captain Seun Ogunlana were enough to propel the Kwara state based side to their first win.

A brace from Uzairu Muhammed and a goal by Sadiq Umar were consolations for one of the host team.

In the evening games, Kada BSC compounded Anambra Warriors woes with a 3-2 success.

Dozie Frank, Tanko Emmanuel, and Victor Tale converted for the Kaduna based side while Chinweze Gabriel and Clement Ekujumi who scored for his former club find the back of the net for the Nnewi-based team.

The last game of the matchday saw Kebbi BSC picking their third win from their first four games with a 3-1 triumph against debutant, Jigawa Golden Stars BSC.

Idowu Akintunde’s own goal broke the deadlock for the Kebbi Fishers as Usman Bello and Suleiman Abdullahi added to the host team goals.

Bagudu Hamza reduced the deficit for Jigawa but it wasn’t enough to prevent another loss on their part.

The final Matchday of round one of the 2024 league season will take place on Saturday before the second round in Nnewi, Anambra State.
