2024 NBSL Super 4 Matchday 2: Kebbi BSC thrash Anambra BSW as Kebbi United pick first win over Kada

The matchday two of the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super 4 witnessed another set of two games at the Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna State on Friday.

The opening game of the matchday pushed holders Kebbi BSC close to their third league title after a 5-0 thrashing of Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.

They raced to a 3-0 lead in the first period as Adams Taiwo, Ekene Obi, and Emmanuel Ohwoferia gave the Kebbi Fishers a comfortable lead.

The second period was keenly contested and didn’t produce any goals till the last period.

Hassan Abdullahi who scored two goals a day earlier against Kebbi United BSC converted two goals for Samaila Bashar’s side as they opened up an unassailable 5-0 lead which was the final result.

Elsewhere, Kebbi United BSC which is making their debut in the Super 4 recorded their first win with a 5-3 victory against host Kada BSC.

The Birnin Kebbi-based side had a 2-0 lead in the first period as Ibrahim Malami and Usman Muhammad scored for Sulaiman Aliyu’s side.

After Sadiq Umar scored his side’s third goal in the second period, Kada Stars tried to come back into the game with goals from Tale Victor and Tanko Emmanuel but Umar Sadiq and Monday Joseph extended the opponents’ lead to 5-2.

Dozie Frank’s goal was mere consolation for the host as Kebbi United BSC sealed a 5-3 win.

On Saturday, the final Matchday of the Super 4 will witness three games, two in the league and an All-Star Novelty match in between.

Kebbi United BSC will hope to fight against Anambra BSW in a bid to pick their second win of the Super 4, the same pursuit of their opponents.

Before the final match between Kada BSC and Kebbi BSC, there will be an All-Star Novelty match involving former national team players, journalists, and beach soccer stakeholders.

The winner of the league will be crowned after the match between Kada BSC and Kebbi BSC.

Kebbi BSC leads the Super 4 log with a maximum of six points ahead of Kebbi United BSC and Anambra BSW (both with three points) while Kada BSC is yet to record any points after two games.
