2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League kick-off date revealed

The 2024 season of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) is set to kick off in April.

The board of the Nigeria Beach Soccer Association (NBSA) has approved the fourth season of the NBSL to get underway from April 10 to 13, 2024.

The first round of the season is slated to be hosted by Kebbi State.

Registration is ongoing and new teams are expected to join the race in a bid to have a taste and battle it out with the old guards for the prestigious NBSL trophy.

The board also approved for capacity building programs starting with club coaches and referees refresher courses which has been made mandatory for all participating team officials.

Teams registration will close on March 29 and the club licensing takes full effect, followed by an online workshop ahead of the season opener.

The proposed calendar for the season is to have the league start in April and end with the Super Finals in July.

There will be three rounds before the Super Finals where the winner of the league will emerge.

Meanwhile, Anambra State has signified interest in hosting the second round of the league which has been approved to take place in May 2024.

Lagos or Abuja will host the third round pending final confirmation while the crocodile city of Kaduna takes centre stage for the second time after hosting the finals in the NBSL debut season.

Kebbi BSC are the holders of the league after winning their second title last season (2023) at home.

They won the maiden edition of the league in 2021 while Kada BSC won the second edition in 2022.
