The first round of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) came to an end with two games at Filin Sukuwa, Sani Abacha Bye Pass, Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
What happened
Kebbi United BSC, in the first game, defeated Jigawa Golden Star BSC 6-4.
Jigawa initially had a 4-1 lead thanks to three goals from Hamza Bagudu and Yusuf Kamilu. Ibrahim Malami scored for Kebbi United.
Unfortunately, Jigawa Golden Star surrendered their three-goal lead in the second and third periods.
Isyaku Atiku (brace), Muniru Aliyu (brace), and Zahara Black scored to lift Kebbi United to their second win of the campaign.
Elsewhere, holders Kebbi Fishers BSC made it three wins from three games with a 3-1 victory against last season’s runners-up, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.
Goals from Taiwo Adams and Hassan Muhammed have given the host team a two-goal lead in the first and second periods, respectively.
Emeka Ogbonna pulled a goal back for the Nnewi-based side before Hamza Manga responded with a quick-fire response immediately from kick-off.
Overall, Kebbi Fishers top Group A with a maximum of nine points after three games, five points ahead of Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, while Ibom BSC has three points, and Nmanko Patigi BSC is yet to record any point.
In Group B, 2022 champions Kada BSC reign supreme with a maximum of nine points, three better than Kebbi United BSC, while Jigawa Golden Star BSC has three points and Niger BSC without any points.
The round two of the league is scheduled to take place in Kaduna state in June 2025.
