2025 NBSL MD two review: Kada BSC make goal scoring history as Kebbi Fishers start title defence on high note

Kada BSC, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, and holders Kebbi Fishers recorded victories on Matchday two of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League Round one in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

What happened

Kada BSC made history as the first team to have eight outfield players score goals after two matches in the league.

They achieved this during a 7-0 thrashing of Niger BSC. Dozie Frank added three goals to his initial two to lead his side to a comfortable win.

Hameed Oladele, Tanko Emmanuel, Bawa Benjamin, and Sani Jibrin also found the back of the net.

Eight outfield players of Kada BSC have scored in the league after two games in historic fashion, the first time in the league.

The team have the highest numbers of goals after two games with a combined 17 goals and also kept a clean sheet, the only team yet to concede in a match.

Elsewhere, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors edged Nmanko Patigi BSC 7-5 to record their second win after two games.

Emeka Ogbonna scored three goals, Stanley Ekwo had a brace while goalie, Segun Basorun and Chinonso Marcel scored once to lift the Nnewi based side to victory.

Agemo Samuel put up a man of the match performance with four goals which were not enough to prevent his side from a loss. Taiwo Bashir also scored a goal for the Kwara state based side.

The last game of the day ended 9-3 in favour of defending champions, Kebbi Fishers against Ibom BSC.

Hassan Abdullahi and Badmus Fuad both scored two goals while Ekene Obi, Hamza Manga, Hassan Muhammad, and Jibrin Yahya added a goal each.

Efiong Eyo, Aniekan Edet, and Uyime Harry’s goals were not enough to lift Ibom BSC to upset the holders.

What they said
“I am very happy for the man of the match again. I didn’t plan for it. I don’t plan for anything. Once we are on the pitch of play, we just try to give our best. We are here to play our best out because we know that every team we are playing will not find it easy to play. We did not want what happened last season to repeat itself. Our opponents are very good because in the first and second period, we struggled but we used our experience and strength towards the third period to defeat them. Kudos to my team for this award. Everything goes to the team. It’s from everywhere because everybody is working. Sometimes I am in the defence and also go forward. We did not make it particular that one person must score. Everybody in the team can score when they get the chance, they utilise it and score. We have it at the back of our mind that we didn’t want to concede. Even the last chance that they had, we shouted from outside that we didn’t want to concede,” – Kada BSC, Dozie Frank (Man of the match vs Niger BSC)

“The game is either win or lose. I just tried my best because I like scoring. Normally, I was determined to score more than four goals but God knows best. Next time, we will try and I will keep scoring till we win. I feel happy winning the man of the match. This is the first time I will be getting a gift as the man of the match. I will keep trying. I am sure that I will win the man of the match in our next two games and I will score more than four goals,” – Nmanko Patigi BSC’s Agemo Samuel (Man of the match vs Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors)

“I want to appreciate the organisers of this competition and my team. It wasn’t an individual effort but a collective work and the hard work pays. We just need to keep working hard to achieve our goals. We can’t be tired of winning because it is difficult to stay at the top but to keep working hard to retain it also,” Kebbi Fishers Badmus Fuad (Man of the match vs Ibom BSC)
