COMMUNIQUE OF THE 1ST ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NIGERIA BEACH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (NBSA)

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE 1ST ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE NIGERIA BEACH SOCCER ASSOCIATION HELD VIA VIDEO CONFERENCING ON TUESDAY, 14TH DECEMBER 2021.

The General Assembly expressed deep appreciation to the Board and Management of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) led by President Amaju Melvin Pinnick and General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi for the continued support and provision of enabling environment to the young association to develop beach soccer in Nigeria.

  1. Following the presentation of the report of the 2021 Nigeria Beach Soccer League season, the General Assembly approved its recommendations with commendations to the league coordinator Mr Mahmud Hadejia and his team.
  2. The Assembly unanimously agreed the league centres remains unchanged for the upcoming season which is proposed to commence February 2022 in Kwara, following the presentation of the proposed league calendar and budget for the 2022 season. The Assembly further directs that the Secretariat harmonises all other beach soccer activities as proposed by various states into the calendar.
  3. The Assembly, also in a unanimous appeal to the leadership and congress of the Nigeria Football Federation submits that players discovered at the recently concluded national league be harnessed quickly and allowed to participate at invitational competitions as a test-run for the readiness of the Sand Eagles to bounce back to the international scene ahead of the next edition of CAF Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations 2022 in Mozambique.
  4. Also, the General Assembly approved the development of a 5-years strategic development plan of beach soccer in Nigeria, following the presentation of a draft by the secretariat for its implementation, after the presentation to the Nigeria Football Federation.
  5. The Assembly also noted and congratulated newly formed state beach soccer associations in Niger and Kogi, with a charge to other states to join and leverage as a medium to harness the potentials of their youths.
  6. While the General Assembly called for more support to the association, it appreciates the efforts of all the individuals who have been of great support to the beach soccer league, particularly the host associations in Lagos, Kwara, Kebbi and Kaduna and their respective state governments.
  7. The General Assembly passed a vote of explicit confidence on the Board of the Nigeria Beach Soccer Association led by Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande and the Secretariat headed by Mr. Taye Olajide.
