Ekene Obi: Kebbi BSC captain sums up lessons from 2023 World Winners Cup

The captain of Kebbi Beach Soccer Club (BSC) to the 2023 World Winners Cup in Alghero, Italy, Ekene Obi says the team has learned from the experience of the tournament.

The Nigerian champions put up a historic performance and reached the Round of 16 of the Beach Soccer Club World Cup in Italy.

Obi asserted that the team will put into practice what they learned in Italy.

“It was a big lesson to all of us players which we did very well. We learned a lot in Italy despite our challenges,” Obi noted.

“I believe that with what we have learned, in the next edition if we are there, I hope we will perform better.

“We will put into practice what we have learned at the World Winners Cup. If we the players, management, and coaches put all our best, I believe that we will meet up to expectations.”

He thanked the sponsors of the team for making their trip to Italy a reality.

“I want to say a big thank you to everyone that made this trip possible for the players and the team.” He added.

“I would say a very big thank you to Wacot Rice and Kebbi State Government. I want to appreciate them for what they did. Despite some lapses but they still managed to meet up to their expectations.

“Wacot Rice did a great job from the support to last. In Italy, they even came over to motivate us. I hope they will do more the next time.” He concluded.
