Kebbi BSC reclaims Nigeria Beach Soccer title

Maiden champions of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League, Kebbi Beach Soccer Club (BSC) reclaimed the title after a 3-2 win over Nmanko Patigi BSC in the final match of the last phase in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital, on Sunday.

Two goals from Adams Taiwo and a goal by Suleiman Abdullahi sealed the win for Kebbi Fishers.

The team reclaimed the title they lost last season to Kada BSC on home soil winning their second league title.

They had sealed the title with a 3-0 win against Ibom BSC and extended their lead to seven points after the win against the Kwara State-based side.

Earlier, 2022 winners, Kada BSC had to rely on extra time to earn a 7-6 win over Kebbi United BSC.

The game ended 4-4 after the third period in a match where Dozie Frank scored six of Kada Stars’ seven goals.

At the end of the season, Kebbi BSC topped the table with 25 points ahead of Nmanko Patigi BSC with 18 points.

Kada BSC with a superior goal difference of 14 edged debutant, Kebbi United BSC to finish third after both sides were tied at 17 points.

Ibom BSC and Smart City BSC with one point and zero points respectively ended the season as the bottom base teams.

Kebbi BSC’s Taiwo Adams won the most valuable player award with teammate, Arome Isah smiling home with the best goalkeeper prize.

Kada BSC’s Dozie Frank with 16 goals scooped the highest goal scorer award as Kebbi United’s Hassan Abdullahi won the rising star prize.

Champions, Kebbi Fishers, and a team from the league will represent Nigeria at World Winners Cup in Italy later this year. The World Winners Cup is organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW).
