The opening match of the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League NBSL (Super) 4 will see two teams from Kebbi State trade tackles at the Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna on Thursday.
Holders Kebbi BSC and Kebbi United BSC will slug it out in the curtain raiser for the season-ending tournament from 4:00 pm.
The two teams both won their respective games in the first and second-round encounters.
While Kebbi United BSC secured a 5-4 win over Kebbi Fishers in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi BSC earned a 6-5 win over their rivals in the second round in Nnewi, Anambra State.
In the second game of the first Matchday of the Super 4, host Kada BSC will hope to start their search to reclaim the league title on home soil against Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors by 5:00 pm.
Like the Kebbi derby, both teams won their last two head-to-head meetings during the regular season.
A 3-2 win for Kada BSC over Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors in Kebbi was followed by an 8-4 win for the Nnewi-based side over their Kaduna State counterparts in the second round.
Matchday two and three games of the 2024 NBSL Super 4 are billed for Friday and Saturday respectively with the team which amassed the highest number of points after round-robin games emerging as league winners.
Kebbi BSC have two titles to their name in 2021 and 2023 while Kada BSC’s solitary title was won in 2022.
