Kwara (Round 3) – June.

Sequel to successful outings in Lagos and Kebbi during the first round and second rounds respectively, the maiden Nigeria Beach Soccer League administered by the Nigeria Beach Soccer Association is set to move on to the 3rd round which will be held in Kwara State.

The National Coordinator, Mr Mahmud Hadejia, who confirmed this during a virtual meeting with State Beach Soccer Coordinators, expressed satisfaction after a briefing by the Chairman, Kwara State Beach Soccer Association; Alhaji Adebowale AbdulLateef Adedeji and the State Coordinator, Rasheed Ola Saraki, who is also a National Officer of the Nigeria Beach Soccer Association.

Mr Mahmud, whilst urging all the participating states and teams to start their preparations early for the third round of the competition, said the event will be held at the Ahman Patigi University in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to the Secretariat, all teams are expected to arrive in Kwara State on the 23rd of June, 2021 as the league will run from 25th to 27th of June,2021.

Press briefing followed by a practical clinic session with all the teams to herald the league’s 3rd Round is scheduled to hold at the Ahman Patigi University auditorium and the pitch area on 24th June, 2021.

It would be recalled that in the Second Round of matches played in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State in May, Kada and Kebbi Beach Soccer Clubs consolidated their dominance in the league, with Kebbi wrapping up their second-round campaign with a convincing 7-2 win over Badagry, whilst Lagos’ Igbogbo BSC, who hammered Edo HCF 7-1, showed they still had all to play for when hostilities begin in Kwara State.

Strong contenders, Kada BSC, who established their dominance by beating Smart City of Lagos 8-3, are still unbeaten so far in both rounds of the league. They would however be looking to maintain their run of good form in Kwara.
The Super 4 finals that would decide the winners would be held in Kaduna City in July 2021 at a purpose-built Beach Soccer pitch by the Kaduna State Government.
