After two seasons with Kebbi United Beach Soccer Club (BSC), Monday Joseph is staging a return to the league holders, Kebbi Fishers, for the 2025 league season.
He was part of the Kebbi Fishers side that won the maiden edition of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) in 2021.
He also played for the three-time league winners during the 2022 season with a silver medal feat for the Fishers.
After leading arch-rivals Kebbi United BSC in their first two seasons in the league, including a third-place finish in 2024, Joseph has a high target on his return to the defending champions.
“It’s not like I fully left Kebbi Fishers because I returned late for training due to personal issues two seasons ago. The coach now asked me to go and help the new team, Kebbi United BSC. That was the reason why I went to Kebbi United BSC,” He told www.beachsoccer.ng
“My target is to prove myself that I am still that player that left the team seasons back and to win the league. I also want to return to my best. By the grace of God, I am going to give my best.”

Having played for the two Kebbi teams in the NBSL, Joseph surely knows the impact of Kebbi Fishers ahead of his second stint.
“Kebbi Fishers is an organized team from the management down to the players and officials. All the players on the team are friends. There is one particular thing I learned from Kebbi Fishers which is their encouragement. Even if the team loses and is not at their best, they encourage you with the belief that you can do it. Honestly, I love that encouragement from them.” He continued.
“The Chairman of the team is also very encouraging. Even when you lose hope, the Chairman will encourage you. There was a time I almost gave up, and he told me that he would hold me responsible if the team failed. The words of encouragement kept me going, and last season, I put in my best for Kebbi United BSC, and they finished third. This time around I decided to return to my roots at Kebbi Fishers to give my best.
“Beach Soccer in Kebbi State has improved alot because most of the players that were not interested in the game from the beginning are now coming into the game. There are lots of players eager to play in the forthcoming league all because of the growth of the local league that we have been playing. The local league in Kebbi has improved alot and has drawn lots of attention from many people. I believe by next season, a lot of teams will participate in the league and that is what we need for more competitions.” He concluded.
