Ahead of the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) season opener, the league board is set to organize coaches and referees refresher courses.
In its usual manner of getting set for the league season, the two programs are aimed at getting coaches and referees ready for the task ahead.
The twin programs will commence collectively for both Coaches and referees on Tuesday March 26, 2024 for Day one session while Day two on Wednesday 27 March, 2024 is for Coaches only.
The final day session on Thursday 28 March, 2024 will conclude the program with the referees session.
The coaching program allows three to four coaches per club including one player.
The coaching instructors for the program are Abdullahi Isa an Ex Beach Soccer International goalkeeper with Nigeria is the technical director of the Association and also a CAF Beach Soccer/UEFA licensed football coach alongside Christopher Kadiri also a CAF Beach Soccer licensed coach.
Sunday Okayi a renowed FIFA Beach Soccer referee instructor and Nigeria Beach Soccer League head of the technical study group (TSG) along with FIFA badged referee, Abduljelili Ogunmuyiwa with six appearances at FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and four African cup of nations will be the refereeing instructors.
Beach soccer referees will be nominated accordingly for this program.
The two programs are vital to help coaches and referees get well-informed about the new trends and recent amendments in the laws of the game.
For the coaches program, clubs are expected to nominate participants for immediate screening by the league secretariat.
Certificates will be issued at the end of the program.
When the league commences in April, no coach including assistants will be allowed to manage or man the team’s technical bench without the Nigeria Beach Soccer Association (NBSA) coaching certificate or its equivalent.
The 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League will get underway from April 10 to 13, 2024, in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital.
