Photo finish group stage ensue as semi finalists emerge at 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League Super Finals in Abuja

The final group games at the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super Finals server up a photo finish with teams sealing their semi final spots in dramatic style.

Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors in the first match edged Ibom BSC 1-0 thanks to captain Gabriel Chinweze’s goal in the second period.

Ibom BSC piled up pressure in a bid to get the leveler which couldn’t come as the Nnewi based side secured their first win of the Super Finals.

In the evening, Jigawa Golden Stars stunned 2022 champions, Kada BSC as they suffered a 5-4 loss.

Bagudu Hamza lifted his side to victory with three goals coupled with one each from Nasiru Atahiru and Magudi Atahiru.

Frank Dozie, Sani Hassan, Victor Tale, and Tanko Emmanuel scored for Kada Stars but the goals were not enough as they dropped points for the first time in the league this season.

The drama continued in the final game of the day as holders, Kebbi Fishers BSC forced Ibom BSC to a 1-1 draw.

Both sides were no separated after the first two periods before Jude Uwaoma thought he had scored the winner late into the third period.

Ekene Obi restored parity late on to take the match into penalties.

Kebbi Fishers emerged victorious 3-1 on penalties.

Overall, Kebbi Fishers BSC topped Group A with four points ahead of Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors with three while Ibom BSC have no point.

In Group B, all three teams ended their campaign with three points but Kada BSC topped on superior goal difference of +2 while Kebbi United BSC finished second on superior goal scored and better head to head record over Jigawa Golden Stars BSC which have the same point and goal difference of -1.

Jigawa Golden Stars BSC and Ibom BSC will face off in the fifth and sixth place classification match in the morning.

This will be followed by Kebbi Fishers BSC’s rival clash against Kebbi United BSC tagged the “Kebbi Derby” in the first semi finals in the evening by 4pm.

Kada BSC and Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors will battle it out in the second semi final clash from 5pm.
