Aiki Nuhu speaks on role of motivation to Kebbi Fishers league consistency

The vice captain of Kebbi Fishers BSC, Aiki Nuhu says motivation from the club management and sponsors has a played pivotal role in their league dominance since 2021.

The Birnin Kebbi based side has won three out of the last four Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) titles.

Nuhu is confident the top ranked African side can continue their dominance ahead of Round 2 in Nnewi, Anambra State.

“My team is fully prepared for the sand battle in Nnewi, Anambra State. We have been in camp for a month preparing our mindset towards the second round though we know it is going to be challenging for us,” He told www.beachsoccer.ng

“Kebbi Fishers being the defending champions is tough, because all the teams in Nigeria Beach Soccer League dream to defeat the defending champion so we are training more, and hard to retain our title which I believe God will see us through.

“As the number one team in Africa, we have won three league titles, and is our prayers that God should make it more easier for us this season again that we will be crowned 2025 champions. We want history to repeat itself again.

Nuhu opined that motivation from the management, State Government and sponsors, Wacot Rice has played crucial role in spurring the team to success.

“The big motivation that Kebbi Fishers BSC have is unity, togetherness from all which are as followed by Kebbi State Government government.” He continued.

“They (Kebbi State Government) have given us 100% support with funds, advice, putting us in the right way. A big thumbs up for Kebbi State Government.

“Wacot rice (Big Bull Rice), our number one sponsor are always there for us whenever we need them they always give us the best. They supported us with funds and rice in order to put in smiles on our faces in which we will give our best to represent and defend the name.”

Kebbi Fishers won the league title in 2021, 2023, and 2024 and aim to become the first team to win three straight titles this year.

Last year, they made history becoming the first team to retain the league title after Kada BSC stopped them in 2022.
