Sodiq Balogun eyes NBSL Super Six spot with Jigawa Golden Star

After playing the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super Four with Kebbi Fishers and Kebbi United BSC respectively, Sodiq Balogun hope to qualify for the Super Six this season with Jigawa Golden Star BSC.

Jigawa Golden Star BSC currently occupy the third and final Super Six place in Group B with three points from three games.

Balogun is confident the status quo can be maintained with two more rounds in Nnewi and Kwara before the Super Six Playoffs.

“We have been getting together to prepare for the second round in Nnewi because we have been waiting for this moment for awhile now,” Balogun told www.beachsoccer.ng

“We were suppose to go to Kaduna but due to the postponement and we have been preparing from that moment. The team is getting ready. Personally, I have been doing my training with the team. We are looking forward to day, counting down.”

The experience player aim to lead Jigawa Golden Star reach lofty height.

“I played for Kebbi Fishers BSC and Kebbi United as well. I think with the experience I gathered and help of my colleagues, our able captain, Hamza Bagudu, also known as Ozil who also played for Kebbi Fishers is a good player. He is a good addition to the team. Both of us have experience to lead the team forward. We are hoping that God’s willing we will qualify for the Super Six,” He continued.

“From there, people will now know that Jigawa Golden Star BSC is a team to reckon with. We believe in ourselves and ability.

“Having more teams, two groups is a good plan this season most especially having Super Six. With four teams in a group, only a team won’t qualify for the Super Six from each group. We are banking on our little experience we had and in our group we have Niger BSC which are coming back for the first time. Now, they are fresh so we can use our little experience to manoeuvre them. I believe we would qualify by the grace of God.” He concluded.
